Coronavirus Policies and Procedures
I am writing to let all of our clients know of the plans and procedures that our firm has in place as we deal with the Coronavirus for the near future. Our firm plans on following all local, state and Federal government recommendations.
As a standard practice, all of our client's business, personal, trust, non-profit and association tax returns were placed on extension. As of today, the IRS has not extended the filing deadlines. However, all of our clients' returns have been extended therefore we are prepared for any unforeseen delays in processing your returns.
Since 2008 our firm has been a "Cloud Based" firm and as such, we've been prepared to work remotely as the result of weather related disruptions. All of our South Florida offices are open for clients who want to mail or drop their tax or financial information to us. If possible, we recommend you scan and email us your information. We will write back with a confirmation email so that you know your information has been received.
For those of you who do not have the ability to scan and email your information, you can mail your documents to our offices and we will be offering a pick up and drop off service. Please call our office and arrange a time for one of our staff to pick up your information from your mailbox or front door. We will pick up your information, prepare your return and then bring back your documents and a hard copy of your return ready for filing. Some of our office have a mail slot if you prefer to drop your information after hours, please check with your office and see what we can offer to assist in getting your documents to us. Again, we will call or email confirming receipt of your information.
The vast majority of our returns are E-filed therefore there is no need to come into the office and sign any return. Form 8879, which allows us to E-file your return, can be signed and either emailed or mail to our office.
All of our offices are linked via an internet based telephone and video conferencing system therefore please continue to call, email or video conference us so that we may answer your questions as we process your returns and continue to providing you the best accounting, tax and business consulting services that are possible.
Given the school closings, we have adjusted our staff's schedules to allow time for parents to be at home with their children and we also are allowing (as space permits) parents to bring their children to work. Many kids are using remote learning tools and therefore can use an open office to go to school. For those parents who chose to work from home, we are accommodating that option.
Given the changes in business operations that we made back in 2008, we are uniquely prepared to deal with this or any other natural disaster that comes our way. Please know that our entire staff is committed to keeping everyone safe and secure but at the same time continuing to go about our lives in as normal a way possible until this crisis passes.
As always, we want to thank everyone for their patience and support as we work through this together.
Regards,
Steven R. Pribramsky
